Two Tasty Treats

Since I never mentioned it before, my daughter turned two and had a Frozen themed birthday party. And since you didn’t know that she had a Frozen themed birthday party, you wouldn’t know that I made a couple Frozen themed treats. Along with some other goodies, these were two homemade hits that were quick, easy, and inexpensive.

First up, white chocolate dipped marshmallows with blue sugar sprinkles.

Here’s what you’ll need:

Lollipop sticks
Large marshmallows
White Chocolate – I used a bag of Ghiradelli white chocolate chips.
Blue sugar sprinkles
Baking sheet
Wax paper

Here’s what you do:

  1. Line the bottom of a baking sheet with wax paper – set aside.
  2. Stick each marshmallow with a lollipop stick – set aside.
  3. Pour blue sugar sprinkles into a cylindrical container, or one that tapers toward the bottom. This makes it easier to coat the marshmallow with the sprinkles
  4. Melt your white chocolate in the microwave, on the stove top, or in a double boiler.
  5. Dip the bottom half of your marshmallow into the white chocolate.
  6. Immediately dip the marshmallow with white chocolate into the sprinkles and roll to coat the bottom.

The next treat is a great addition to the above since there will be enough white chocolate left over.

Here’s what you’ll need:

Pretzel rods
White chocolate
Sugar sprinkles
Baking sheet
Wax Paper

Here’s what you do:

  1. Line the bottom of a baking sheet with wax paper – set aside
  2. Melt your white chocolate in the microwave, on the stove top, or in a double boiler.
  3. Pour the melted white chocolate into a heat safe cylindrical container. I used a large heavy plastic cup. This makes it easier to coat more of the pretzel with chocolate.
  4. Dip the pretzels into the white chocolate and set onto the baking sheet.
  5. Sprinkle the sugar sprinkles while the chocolate is still wet.

That’s it – so easy and tasty!

We did wind up having a few marshmallows and pretzels left over so I brought them to work on Monday. They were a nice pick-me-up during the mid-afternoon slump. It’s also kind of funny watching grown adults eat marshmallows on a stick. 🙂

    1. Thanks! They were pure sugary deliciousness. Also, a great idea is to stir your coffee (or hot chocolate) with one. A coworker did that and raved about it.
